I'm Ash, and like many of you, I started my journey as a solo backpacker, navigating the big, beautiful world with the help of travel blogs. Now, I'm excited to share my experiences and insights to help fellow travelers embark on their adventures.
My Travel Journey
My love for traveling began when I moved to Plymouth for university. This vibrant naval city on the southwest coast of the UK was a stark contrast to my hometown of Winchester. Surrounded by a diverse and multicultural student population, I met and lived with people from all over the world, from Sao Paulo to Malaysia. This exposure sparked my curiosity to explore new cultures and destinations.
Taking the Plunge into Solo Travel
For a long time, I waited for friends to commit to travel plans. Eventually, I asked myself, “If not now, when?” This led me to buy a month’s Interrail ticket and book a flight to Rome. Since then, I’ve never looked back, exploring the world solo and documenting every adventure.
Balancing Work and Travel
While I’m not a full-time blogger, I work in education, helping children with special educational needs access the quality education they deserve. My job allows me the flexibility to travel during my time off. I meticulously document my journeys in a cork material notebook, capturing every country, city, activity, and the amazing people I meet along the way. Now, I’m excited to share these stories with you.
